SDR Achievement Awards

The SDR Forum Awards will be presented at the SDR'09 Technical Conference and Product Exposition in December.
Awards are made in three categories: 

SDR Forum International Achievement Award
(Replaces the Industry Achievement Award)

1. This award is presented to an individual, group of individuals, or organization that made especially significant contributions to international furtherance or acceptance of Software Defined or Cognitive Radio
2. Nominations come from the membership. To nominate someone click here.
3. Nominees are down selected to a group of finalists by a committee chosen by the SDR Forum Board of Directors
4. Finalists are announced at least 2 months in advance of SDR’09
   • Fees are waived for a single individual from each organization selected as a finalist to attend SDR’09
5. Winner is selected by membership
   • One vote per organization

SDR Forum President’s Award
(Replaces the Contributors Award)

1. This Award is presented to individuals in recognition of their sustained outstanding contributions in support of the SDR Forum and its activities.
2. Nominations are made by the chair and vice chair of the SDR Forum
3. Nominees are announced at least 2 months in advance of SDR’09
   • Fees are waived for a single individual from each organization selected as a finalist to attend SDR’09
4. Winners are selected by the Forum’s officers (Chair, Vice Chair, Committee Chairs, Treasurer, Secretary, CEO, COO)

NEW! SDR Forum Technology of the Year

1. This award is presented to an individual or organization for a breakthrough product or technology in the field of software defined or cognitive radio as selected by the members.
2. Nominations come from the membership. To nominate someone click here.
3. Nominees are down-selected to a group of finalists by a committee chaired by the Markets Committee Chair and including the class representatives of the Board (large, medium, small, govt. and academic)
4. Finalists are announced at least 2 months in advance of SDR’09
   • Fees waived for a single individual from each organization chosen as a finalist to attend SDR’09
5. Finalists are invited to demo at SDR’09 during the demo session on Tuesday evening
6. Winner is selected by membership through ballot
   • One vote per organization

Awards are also made each year to the authors of the top papers from the previous year's Technical Conference, as determined by an independent panel of judges. The list of these papers is available here.
