Thomas E. Kern - Executive Vice President, Intelligent Transportation Society of America

Biography
Thomas E. Kern joined the Intelligent Transportation Society of America in December 2007 and serves as its executive vice president.  He also serves as an adjunct professor at Johns Hopkins University in its Graduate Business School where he teaches knowledge management and organizational learning.

Prior to joining ITS America, Tom was a senior associate at the Annie E. Casey Foundation. He previously served as deputy executive vice president of the American Consulting Engineers Council, the executive director of its Research Foundation, program manager for American Management Systems, Inc., and as a public servant in the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency.

He holds a BA in Government and Economics from Georgetown University, earned his MPA from the London School of Economics, and attended Oxford University where he did graduate work in the Department of Politics.
